Meet Ezekiel Hernandez

Ezekiel Hernandez, a young boy with a big heart and a passion for reading, believed that "By reading, you can live many and different lives." He also dreamed of traveling the world, teaching others to read, believing in the transformative power of literacy and wanting to share it with those less fortunate.

At just 11 years old, Ezekiel was diagnosed with DIPG, changing his world from playing baseball and enjoying books to facing the harsh reality of illness. Despite his struggles, Ezekiel's faith in God never wavered, and he always wore a smile, spreading kindness wherever he went. Green was his favorite color, and he cherished his little sister, Jazmin, with all his heart. As a true Star Wars fan, he found joy in the adventures of the galaxy far, far away. Ezekiel and his dad shared a special bond, racing together since he was a little boy, tearing up the dragways, with Ezekiel's favorite car being the Honda CRX. As he grew, his love for racing only deepened, becoming a cherished memory they shared. Ezekiel's greatest gift was making others feel loved and valued. Though he's no longer with us, we find comfort in fulfilling his bucket list, keeping his dreams alive. In honor of Ezekiel's memory and to raise awareness, his dad now races for angels, including Ezekiel and other children who have joined him in spirit.

Thank you for letting me share Ezekiel's story and his love for reading. 💚 For more about his legacy and his dad's racing efforts, check out @read4eze and @speedforangels.
